ΓΙΩΡΓΟΣ ΣΟΦΙΑΝΙΔΗΣ
GIORGOS SOFIANIDIS

 

Ο Γιώργος Σοφιανίδης γεννήθηκε στο Πρωτοχόρι (Πορτοράζ) Κοζάνης. Ο πατέρας του είναι από το Πρωτοχόρι και η μητέρα του από τα Αλωνάκια Κοζάνης. Η καταγωγή του από τον Πόντο είναι η περιοχή Καπίκιοϊ, Ματσόυκα.  Τα μουσικά του ακούσματα προέρχονται από Ποντίους της πρώτης και δεύτερης γενιάς. Τον κολακεύει η σκέψη πως μπορεί να είναι άμμεσος συνεχιστής αυτών των ανθρώπων και μιας μουσικής με αυστηρή λιτότητα στην μορφή και στην έκφρασή της. Ασχολείται επαγγελματικά με την λύρα, το τουλούμι, την φλογέρα και το τραγούδι. 

Giorgos Stefanidis was born in Protohori (Portoraz), Kozani. His father is from Protohori and his mother is from Alonakia Kozani. His family roots are from Kapikioi, Matsouka. His musical tastes are influenced by Pontians of the first and second generation. He is honored at the fact that he may be an indirect continuum of these people and of a music with austere basicness in its form and expression. He performs the lyra, the bagpipe, the shepherd's pipe and Pontian song on a professional basis.
