Ορφανίδης
γεννήθηκε και
μεγάλωσε στη
Δράμα από
πόντιους
γονείς.Ο
πατέρας του ,Κώστας,από
τα Κομνηνά
Ξάνθης,
κατάγεται από
την
Τραπεζούντα
ενώ η μητέρα
του, Δήμητρα
από την
Αργυρούπολη
Δράμας,
κατάγεται από
την
Αργυρούπολη
του Πόντου.Είναι
παντρεμένος
και πατέρας δυο
κοριτσιών.
Ξεκίνησε να
ασχολείται με
το τραγούδι το 1990
με εμφανίσεις
σε διάφορες
τοπικές
εκδηλώσεις της
Δράμας και
κατόπιν
έρχονται οι
πρώτες
εμφανίσεις σε
ποντιακό
κέντρο,στο
Χορτοκόπι
Καβάλας.
Αργότερα
εμφανίζεται
στο ποντιακό
κέντρο "Λεμόνα"
της Δράμας ενώ
παράλληλα
προετοιμάζει
και
παρουσιάζει
την πρώτη του
δισκογραφική
δουλεία
Giorgos Orfanidis was born
and raised in Drama by parents of Pontian heritage. His father, Kostas, from
Komnina, Xanthi has roots from Trapezounta, and his mother, Dimitra, from
Argyroupoli, Drama, has roots from Argyroupolis (Gimishane). He is married
and has two daughters.
He began to sing
professionally in 1990 appearing at various local performances in Drama, and
consequently at a Pontian nightclub in Hortokopi, Kavala. Later he appeared
at the Pontian nightclub Lemona in Drama as he completed his first
recording. Due to his huge early success, he is compelled to leave for
Athens to sing at Trygona for two winter seasons. After returning to
Drama, he sings at Minore while working on his second recording. After
two years he releases his first live recording. He performs in and outside
of Greece.
